90 hours, of which 28 hours are spent in class and 62 hours of self-study.
Course content
This seminar aims to provide an introduction into advanced research topics in software and systems engineering. In particular, it bridges over to topics of current research interests in the Chair for Software and Systems Engineering that can lead to projects and theses at the Bachelor and Masters levels. Current areas of research of the chair include:
- Analysis of causalities in system safety.
- Analysis and repair of real-time properties of systems.
- Formal guarantees and repair for machine-learning based systems.
- Modeling and analysis of legal contracts (legal tech).

Participants will be exposed to current research topics and learn to present research results.
Course literature
Will be provided during the introductory meeting.
Expected course achievment
- Presentation of a seminar topic.
- Seminar paper.
- Regular seminar participation.
Remark
The first session on 24 October 2024 is mandatory for every student who wants to give a talk!
For attendance, the registration in ZEUS is mandatory.
The course will be offered in English, but seminar presentations can be given in German, if so desired.
